Beach Clean-Up 2014

On Saturday, September 20th a group of about 20 people consisting of youth and adults gathered together for our annual beach clean-up at Doheny Beach, CA.It is such a blessing to see people of all ages contributing to the well-being of our surrounding environment. Unfortunately, you can almost always count on there being plenty of litter and debris to pick up, but I guess that’s ok because otherwise we might just goof off all day long! Thank you to all of our selfless volunteers for helping make a difference!

Raz-Ma-Tazz Children’s Summer Musical Program

July 21 – 25, 2014

Raz-Ma-Tazz Summer Children’s Music Camp is an exciting adventure in music. We use singing, movement, handbell/chime ringing, and music enrichment to teach children entering 1st through 8th grade about music.  During a week-long camp, professional musicians teach the basic and more advanced techniques of reading, singing, and playing music, as well as rhythm and movement.  We use a variety of musical styles, featuring a non-religious arts curriculum.  So, whether it’s music from around the world, or a stroll down Broadway, Raz-Ma-Tazz emphasizes the joy of music and learning. 2014 Schedule

Monday through Thursday: 9 am-12:30 pm
Friday: 9 am – 1:30 pm

On Friday students are asked to bring a lunch and stay for a dress rehearsal.

Friday evening performance, July 20th @7 pm

Expectations and Guidelines

The goal of Raz-Ma-Tazz is to provide a fun and positive learning atmosphere for all participants. To this end, and to eliminate confusion, we feel it is important to clarify our expectations in advance. Raz-Ma-Tazz participation is a privilege for those accepted. We expect that each student will be responsible for following five basic guidelines during the week:

  • Be prepared to learn by arriving on time and attending each day.  If you must miss a day due to illness, please call the church office to inform the staff – (949-831-8820, ext. 202)
  • Treat peers and adults with respect.
  • Be an attentive listener and participate in each activity.
  • Use appropriate language and demonstrate proper behavior.
  • Treat all church property and the property of others with respect.

Grouping of participants is done by the staff with careful consideration of age, grade, and level of music/dance experience.  Therefore, it is not always possible to place friends in the same group.  Please support decisions made by the staff.  We will encourage students to meet new friends.

The First Inaugural Mission In Motion Golf Scramble is a charitable fundraising event that will be benefiting “Mission Within Reach”, which works with local and international organizations that help those in need in so many ways.

It will be open to the public, is family friendly and children are encouraged to play along. This is meant to be a fun atmosphere, and you are free to invite your friends too! The “tournament” will be played in “scramble” format in teams of 4. There will be a pre-round clinic for those who would like to “loosen up” or just get a little pre-game confidence boost.

For $150 dollar donation (donation letter sent upon registration) you will get a clinic taught by PGA certified Pros, a round of golf and dinner at the San Juan Hills Golf Club.

There will be a “Closest to the Pin” award giveaway with a Swiss Grill Brand Arosa Outdoor Oven sponsored by Pacific Living Inc.

We will be having a “quartermania” auction after dinner and drinks that is always a good time and a whole lot of fun where those bidding have the possibility of acquiring items for practically nothing, as they are auctioned off in 25 cent increments.

Your participation in this event will help others around the world and in your very own communities. Mission Within Reach supports eight community and global missions with the goal of changing lives through Jesus Christ. Your support of this ministry changes the lives of children, families and communities locally and around the world. The results are continually amazing to the recipients. Mission Lutheran Church has donated more than 1100 free wheelchairs. That is 1100 lives changed in 8 years to now have freedom for basic needs. Sign up —>
